What are some benefits of community gardening?

A community garden brings a wide range of benefits, including:

Can I use my Direct Payment Budget?

What is involved in a typical gardening session?

Sessions are relaxed and friendly, there is no set arrival time and you may turn up, or leave, at any time during the session.  You are also welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel able to. The HCG team prepare a list of gardening jobs for each session and these are divided up between attendees each time according to preference and ability. Halfway through the gardening session, we break for refreshments (tea, coffee, cake) and a chat. The session ends with the cleaning and putting away of tools.

What do I do if I can’t attend?

If you’re unable to attend a session where you’re expected, for whatever reason, we ask that you contact the HCG team to let them know so that we may adjust any plan for numbers.
