Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Adolescents

Applications are now open for our Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Adolescents course running ONLINE from November 2025.

The course covers the following 7 units of study:

  • Work safely, ethically, and legally with young people
  • Work relationally with young people
  • Work with client diversity
  • Work with an appropriate clinical model with young people
  • Work with self-awareness with young people’s content within sessions
  • Work with a coherent framework to inform and evaluate clinical work with young people
  • Monitor and maintain work with young people in professional settings

You will also be required to secure a placement counselling 11-18 year olds; A minimum 60 hours supervised counselling hours is required to pass the course.

  • Start date: Friday 7th November 2025
  • Session times: 9:00 – 13:00
  • Session venue: Online
  • Contact hours: 120 hours
  • Entrance requirements: A minimum of Level 4 Diploma or equivalent in counselling and 100 counselling hours
  • Course Cost: £1650 (£1550 if you register for the course before 1st August 2025
  • Awarding Body: Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB)

Please note:

  • The course is a CPCAB tailor-made course written by Hart Voluntary Action
  • You may be required to attend an interview. Entrance to the course will be dependent on you meeting the entrance requirements and the interview
  • If the course is oversubscribed we retain the right to not offer a place even if all of the above criteria are met
  • Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Adolescents is aimed at students who already hold a counselling qualification at level 4 or equivalent and who wish to work with younger clients in the 11 – 16 age range
  • It is assumed that students will already have a sound theoretical knowledge gained from their initial qualifying course. The course is taught in an experiential way and will not focus on the theories of counselling
