Today is Young Carers Action Day 2026 – a national day to recognise the incredible young people who help care for family members and to raise awareness of the support they need.
Our Hart & Rushmoor Young Carers service, supports young people across Hart and Rushmoor who help care for someone at home with a disability, long-term or terminal illness, mental health condition or addiction.
The theme for this year is “Fair Futures for Young Carers”, highlighting the importance of ensuring young carers have the same opportunities to learn, grow and thrive as their peers.
Through activities, support and opportunities to connect with others who understand their experiences, HRYC helps young carers take a break from their caring responsibilities while also ensuring they feel recognised and supported within their community.
Today, we join organisations across the UK in recognising young carers and raising awareness of the support they need to build brighter futures.
