Hart Volunteer Thermal Imaging Scheme Update

Hart Voluntary Action has come together with the Climate Change team at Hart District Council to launch a new volunteering opportunity to support Hart residents in making their homes warmer and more energy efficient.

Earlier in year, Hart District Council offered Hart residents the opportunity to register their interest in a free thermal imaging visit to assess where heat is escaping from their homes, and over 180 Hart residents have registered their interest from across the district.

During November and December, volunteers have been going out in pairs to carry out the first round of thermal imaging visits.  Fortunately the weather was on our volunteers’ side with cooler evening temperatures and very little rain to hamper camera use outdoors

A total of 56 properties were visited over 6 weeks with the option for homes to have images taken externally and internally, and feedback has been very positive so far:

Fabulous scheme, and very interesting to see where I can improve my energy efficiency”

“I am very pleased that Hart are offering this service. With high energy prices, for me it confirmed that the insulation work we had done is successful.”

More thermal imaging visits are scheduled for January and February.
