Hampshire & Isle of Wight Dementia Alliance Launch

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Dementia Alliance launches during Dementia Awareness Week to strengthen local support for people affected by dementia

This Dementia Awareness Week (18 – 24th May 2026), partners across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are coming together to launch the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Dementia Alliance, a collaborative network designed to improve support, strengthen connections between services, and make it easier for people affected by dementia to access the help they need.

The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Dementia Alliance brings together people with lived experience, carers, community organisations and local partners from across the region to improve how dementia support works in everyday life.  By taking a more joined-up approach, the Alliance aims to connect people to the right information, , strengthen community-based support, and make services easier to understand and navigate.

The Alliance is built on a shared commitment to achieve better coordination and collaboration across the region. Its work focuses on:

  • Bringing people and organisations together
  • Sharing information and good practice
  • Improving signposting to support
  • Helping shape more joined-up local services

By creating stronger links between services and communities, the Alliance aims to ensure that people affected by dementia – whether living with a diagnosis or supporting someone who is, can more easily find the right help, at the right time, in their local area.

Brogan Rehill, Head of Strategy, Partnerships & Community Impact at Age Concern Hampshire and spokesperson for the Alliance said: “The launch of the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Dementia Alliance during Dementia Awareness Week reflects our shared ambition to improve everyday support for people affected by dementia. By working together across organisations and communities, we can make a real difference to how people experience and access support locally.”

The launch is being shared widely across partner organisations during Dementia Awareness Week to highlight the importance of collaboration in improving outcomes for people living with dementia and those who care for them.

Better support for dementia, through working together.
The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Dementia Alliance connects people, organisations and services to make support easier to find.

Hart Voluntary Action is pleased to have been invited to join the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Dementia Alliance, not only to be able to raise awareness of the Alliance with our local community organisations, but also to raise the profile of how our Hart’s Community Garden service can engage and support people affected by dementia and their family carers.
